About the Challenge

The Trilogy Ocean Challenge, an initiative of the South African Hall of Fame, showcases extraordinary human endurance and resilience, redefining what’s possible in open-water swimming.

In this world-first, three-part event, two ultra-distance athletes will face a gruelling journey spanning 152 kilometres through the unpredictable waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This series includes three extreme open-water swims, two of which have never been completed as solo swims.

The Swims

  • False Bay Crossing
    33km: Completed 22 November 2024
  • Robben Island to Dassen Island
    53km: TBC March 2025
(Never been completed as a solo open water swim)
  • False Bay Double Crossing
    66km: TBC November 2025
(Never been completed as a solo open water swim)

Why it Matters

The Trilogy Ocean Challenge isn’t just a test of human spirit—it’s a mission to empower.

In early 2024, the South African Hall of Fame achieved a significant milestone:

  • 10 deserving scholars enrolled at Pretoria Boys High School on full bursaries, unlocking access to quality education.
  • 15 permanent coaching staff were employed to provide mentorship and long-term support.

In 2025, a further 21 children enrolled in Grade 8, bringing the total number of bursary recipients to 29!

This challenge is your opportunity to contribute to this impactful cause. Donations raised through the Trilogy Ocean Challenge directly supports this initiative, empowering more young South Africans to unlock their potential and thrive.
