Starting 2026 with Purpose, Presence, and Small Wins

What a Healthy Body Means at the Start of a New Year

January brings new calendars, fresh energy, and renewed intentions, the promise of a fresh start. But does real strength come only from bold resolutions? Or does it come from showing up, staying balanced, and choosing wellness in ways that are sustainable and meaningful?

At the South African Hall of Fame, we’ve seen that greatness is built over time. It’s found in small habits, quiet consistency, and purpose-driven action. And that’s why this month, we’re celebrating the Healthy Body in all of us.

What Wellness Looks Like in the Everyday

We asked Marieta Kruger, Human Capital Manager: Wellness at Medihelp Medical Scheme, what “Healthy Body” means to her at the start of a new year.

“At Medihelp, a healthy body means balance, feeling strong, rested, and ready to engage with life. It’s not about chasing big resolutions, but about showing up for yourself in small, meaningful ways. We believe that when your body and mind are both in a good space, you can live and work with more purpose and empathy, not just for our members, but for one another.”

“This January, we’re encouraging small, daily actions that build lasting wellness, taking short walking breaks, stretching between meetings, or using the Wellness Hub gym to move during the workday. Through our partnership with Strove, we’ve also brought mindfulness into the mix. The meditation sessions on the Strove app have become a favourite, a few quiet minutes to breathe, reset, and refocus in the middle of a busy day.”

Her message is a reminder that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the smallest changes can have the biggest impact, especially when they’re done with intention.

This January, choose one thing.
Something small that helps you feel stronger, calmer, or more focused.
