The South African Hall of Fame is proud to announce the induction of two legendary figures in golf – Denis Hutchinson and Theo Manyama – into its esteemed ranks. The induction will take place during the PGA Annual Awards Dinner on Monday, 15 September 2025, at the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club.
Honouring Legends of the Game
Denis Hutchinson, affectionately known as “Hutchie,” has had a profound impact on South African golf both on and off the course. A professional golfer with an illustrious playing career, Hutchinson went on to become the voice of golf for millions as a beloved commentator and ambassador of the sport. His lifelong dedication has shaped the landscape of South African golf and inspired generations of players. He is also a member of the South African Golf Hall of Fame and serves as the Honorary Life President of the PGA of South Africa.
Theo Manyama, from humble beginnings, began a lifelong journey and developed a deep and enduring passion for the greatest game. Starting as a weekend caddy while still a schoolboy, Theo rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected golf officials in the world. He achieved the rare distinction of completing golf’s “Grand Slam” as a rules official – officiating at tournaments across every corner of the globe. His unwavering dedication to the Sunshine Tour helped shape the professional landscape of South African golf, while his commitment to transformation through example, mentorship, and inclusivity has opened doors for countless young golfers, many of whom have gone on to achieve national and international success. Theo is also a proud member of the South African Golf Hall of Fame.
Together, Hutchinson and Manyama represent the essence of the South African Hall of Fame’s mission: to Celebrate greatness and Inspire and Empower future generations.
