Inducted into the South African Hall of Fame – 14 November 2025

Mark Fish is remembered as a rock-solid defender and an integral part of South Africa’s golden generation of footballers.

Born on 14 March 1974 in Cape Town, Fish played for clubs across South Africa and Europe, including Orlando Pirates, Lazio (Italy), and Bolton Wanderers (England). He was a core member of the 1996 African Cup of Nations winning team, where his strength, composure, and leadership were vital to South Africa’s success.

Off the field, Fish has remained a dedicated ambassador for football development and youth upliftment, using his platform to give back to the sport and country that shaped him.
