Clive Barker remains one of the most celebrated coaches in South African football history, revered for leading Bafana Bafana to their greatest triumph, the 1996 African Cup of Nations title.

Born on 23 June 1944 in Durban, Barker’s coaching career spanned over four decades, but it was his role in uniting a newly democratic South Africa through football that earned him legendary status. With a rare blend of tactical intelligence and emotional leadership, he guided a diverse team to glory on home soil, helping to heal a divided nation.
